It really takes someone really special to touch Simon Cowell’s heart. After all, he’s a man with an impeccable ear for talent. But when this teen stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage, he sensed there was something different about her. He had a feeling could be special.

As Calysta Bevier introduced herself, the judges instantly took notice of her “Audrey Hepburn-style.” Then, she shocked the judges by making a startling revelation. Her hair style wasn’t a choice she made.

One year ago, this 16-year-old was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Fortunately, she beat the illness and now wants to inspire others through her music.

“My hair wasn’t really my choice. I’m a survivor of stage 3 ovarian cancer. I kind of came here today to show people that no matter what you’ve gone through to keep chasing your dreams,” said her.

“I love everything about you. You know what? I just had this feeling when you walked out. I can’t explain it. Just your spirit, the choice of song, your voice, I think you’re really special. I’ve just got this really incredible feeling about you, I really do. I think everyone in this room felt it. I predict great things are going to happen for you. There’s something about you,” said Simon.
